X-Wing Pilot Uniform — Flight Suit

Source: Dewback Wing

The flight suit's origins are sketchy. Some believe it isn't a flight suit at all but rather for automotive racing1 but that may just be a rumor.

I purchased an orange flight suit from an Army Navy Store hoping it would done. After further study of the original, I have found some problems. First, the pockets line up pretty well with the one from the sketch above but they zip instead of fold over. Second, the suit only has room for two arm tools instead of three. Third, the collar on the neck is a regular collar instead of a band. Finally, there isn't a place for my Comm Pad.

Getting a flight suit that is accurate isn't easy. Here are some of the options:

  • Buy an X-Wing Flight Suit from a vendor (see vendor list below)
  • Buy two sets of coveralls (one as the jump suit and the other to strip parts off of)
  • Sew a jump suit from stratch
  • Buy a flight suit from an Army Navy Store (see vendor list below)
