Sci-fi Expo Plano, Texas - October 15, 2005

This weekend my wife and I attended the Sci-fi Expo in Plano. We had a good time looking at all the over-priced toys people were trying to sell and meeting celebrities. This expo featured Carrie Fisher, Kenny Baker, Peter Mayhew, Bonnie Piesse, Steve Sansweet (Lucas Fan Relations), Jonathan Frakes, Adam Baldwin (Firefly/Serenity), Marc Singer (Beastmaster), Erin Gray (Buck Rogers), Keir Dullea (2001/2010), Gary Lockwood (2001).




The costume contest was hosted by Steve Sansweet (Lucas Film Fan Relations). Steve is a die-hard Star Wars fan turned Lucas Film employee. JediOKC sponsored the event, which was impressively well-organized, and recuited the help of various comic book artist to be judges.


Men's Division



First Place. This costume was handmade by the guy below who also made the Alien.




Second Place but top notch! Again this costume is handmade by the wearer. Impressive... most impressive.




Third Place. Very well done!


Children's Division



First Place. Super cute little girl! This costume was very well made.




Second Place. Corpse Bride. Sorry she never faced the camera long enough to get a good shot.
